Thank you, Grace! Yes, that way of making patterns is really not difficult at all! Once you get the point, it is very fast and efficient! I also like Paola Reina dolls, though I can’t have any in my house because of the vanilla smell – I am very sensitive to smells and don’t like many of them around. I think, starting a blog would be a good idea! There are easy free ways of doing so – blogspot.com or weebly or wordpess.com.

Thank you, Grace! Yes, I also admire my mum’s talent. I myself prefer to use patterns when I knit! I can adapt them (and I have done so in the past) but it takes time. For sewing I either buy or make my own patterns (I’ve shown here before how I make them by wrapping dolls with masking tape). I would love to see your doll dresses! Medieval period is one of my favourite ones!! Do you have a blog?

Thank you for the nice reply, Olga. Wow! I really admire such talent. I make clothes for my dolls. I bought a booklet of basic patterns and adapt to suit the doll persona or nationality. My latest doll looks like Boticelli’s Venus and will wear an ivory medieval type dress with gold braiding.

Most of the knitted clothes which I have shown recently were made by my mum and they are either her own designs or variations on some children’s clothing she sees here or there. She knits without patterns. You won’t regret getting one of the Maru dolls – they are really beautiful, even better in person!
