Update 01/02/2015. A change of plans has happened. Having just madly fallen in love with the whole Outlander thing (the TV series and the books) I have finally decided the destiny of Leonard (and Carina, to that matter). He is now called Jamie Fraser and he is indeed from the 18th century which I had in mind for him from the beginning! The 18th century Scotland! From 1743, to be precise. He is about to go for a face-up.
The wigs will be totally different, of course, when I finally get them and also when Leonard comes back with a face-up.
And here is the original post from 10 September 2014.
Look who has recently arrived! This is Iplehouse EID Leonard from a Special Pirate Edition. Isn’t he just gorgeous (wait until he has a proper face-up!)! And I thought I wouldn’t need any more dolls! I am so glad I decided to order him (on the last day of the one-month long pre-order). So, finally he is here and he is destined to be with my Carina.
Leonard is 70 cm tall (and weighs 3 kg!). He has real skin colour. He has a Super Hero body type (though I personally prefer the Model type, but I wanted to order a body that I don’t have yet – to justify ordering him at all!).
Leonard was sent to me on my favourite actor’s birthday (do you know who he is?), so that decided his name. He is Richard. Apart from that, I don’t have particular plans for this guy. But something from about the 18th century is calling here, I think…
First encounter with Carina.
Typical Iplehouse eyes that are too large and make dolls look like aliens. But the photos are for the history.
At first I tried 12 mm green eyes and a short black wig on him, but it looked so awful that I decided not to show that photo! Next, I changed the eyes again – to the blue ones this time (I also have brown ones which I might try). This wig was the only other short wig that I had (for Benedict Cumberbatch doll!). I think he looks pretty good in it.
But I thought the long hair suited him best. Not this colour (would you believe that this is Jane Eyre’s second wig??), he needs something darker but not too dark, I think. Usually I don’t like long hair in men but in this case he looks really good.
Look at his gorgeous profile – the thing that I noticed first when I saw this doll for the first time!
And a few test photos with Carina. I think they are a perfect couple.
Below there are more photos from the box opening.
