Emerald green Tudor dress

This dress was another custom order I have recently made. Finally, it is made in a different colour! I really wanted to make this dress in green or blue. And here we are!! The gown is similar to my first Tudor gowns, but I have changed the bead embroidery around the neckline, made the train on the skirt longer and also changed the underskirt.

The gown consists of a kirtle skirt (that is, just a skirt and not a dress that was worn under the gown and is visible at the front under the main skirt), the gown itself, the French hood, the girdle and a pearl necklace. The kirtle skirt is made of the gold metallic brocade and cotton calico. It is fully lined with white batiste and has a belt that closes with a skirt hook. The gown is made of the emerald green polyester taffeta and gold metallic brocade for the sleeves. It is fully lined: the bodice – with white batiste, the skirt – with matching emerald green cotton. The gown closes at the back with 4 snaps. The French hood is made of the same polyester taffeta interlined with buckram. The girdle is made from a vintage chain with pearls.

And this is what the new style of a kirtle looks like. It is made more like the authentic Tudor pieces when only the visible part was made out of brocade. The kirtle has a flat front and gathered back.
