Let’s continue with my Jane Eyre project! I am now making the bodice for Jane’s dress.
I cut all the details from the woolen fabric for the main bodice and the cotton batiste for the lining. Then I sewed them together.
The seam at the back has piping added to it.
Then I sewed sleeves leaving an opening for the hook and loop fastening.
Then I sewed lining to the sleeves.
The next step was to set the sleeves into the armholes. I gathered the sleeves (both the main fabric and the lining) to create the necessary volume.
And carefully sewed them to the bodice.
Next, I tried the parts of the bodice on Jane and pinned the edges (mostly, they coincided with the lines from the pattern).
Then, I sewed the lining to the armhole.
And pinned the lining to the main bodice.
Trying it all on Jane again before sewing the bodice and lining together.

О, платье уже готово. После корсета, платье- это семечки 🙂 А воротник ещё не делала?
Оль, так ты решила сделать отдельно лиф и отдельно юбку? А ты в музее видела подобное платье?
Марина, платье действительно проще шить, но корсет мне шить понравилось больше. Белым на белом шить в разы легче, чем черным по черному. К тому же, платье шью черными шелковыми нитками, а они вообще исчезают при шитье – просто сливаются с тканью!
Нет, я решила это платье сшить так, как решила. А вот серое такое же сшить уже юбку отдельно, разрезы по бокам и т.п. В музее было похожее платье – зеленое.
Воротник я не начинала даже. Эти фото я подготовила еще до отъезда, просто показать не успела. Сейчас я вяжу черную шаль для Джейн из ниток 1600 м / 100 г!
