Much as I don’t like Barbies, I have one because… well, because this Katniss Everdeen doesn’t look like a Barbie to me. In fact, I have two of them – one remains in her original outfit and is called Katniss, and the other one is now called Jennifer and she is the one who will be getting new dresses!
I undid her plait, washed her hair (a few times!) and trimmed it quite a bit. It took a long time to get rid of the waves but it looks pretty now.
The top was knitted first (from cotton #10 with 1.5 mm needles) and then I had to think about a matching skirt. It is a full circle made from cotton-silk fabric with some shine to it. The belt is made from a satin bias tape and it closes with a snap at the back.
Jennifer has become so adorable, I can’t have enough of her.
