I didn’t know anything about these dolls, wasn’t even aware of their existence – until the Toy Fair 2016 in London! And yet, one of these dolls has recently become the first doll in space! She was taken there by the British astronaut Tim Peake and he even tweeted a photo of this doll in space! Amazing, isn’t it!
Well, these dolls are Lottie dolls. They are 18 cm tall. They are created from a drawing of a 6-year-old girl Abigail and are made to reflect realistic proportions of 9-year-old children. These dolls don’t have a make-up, high heels or jewellery. They are just normal children with different hobbies. The variety of theses dolls is amazing. And what I particularly like about them is that they represent different hobbies and activities. Each doll comes with a short story outlined at the back of her box. And there are also lots of accessories available for them!!
So, this is the very doll that has gone to space! She is Lottie Stargazer. She comes in a box like this.
She comes with her very own telescope.
This was Lottie’s exciting stand at the Fair.
This doll is called Lottie Pony Club. The doll comes with a horse and I am sure girls who love horses (and at the age of 7-9 it’s almost every girl!!) would absolutely love this doll!
And this is Lottie Butterfly Protector.
Lottie Autumn Leaves.
Lottie Pirate Queen.
Lottie Muddy Puddles.
Lottie Spring Celebration Ballet.
Lottie School Days.
And here is the boy – Finn!
These are amazing dolls. When I showed these photos to my 8-year-old daughter she got very excited and she loved them at first sight! The best thing about them is that they represent real girls (I never fail to emphasize how much I dislike Barbies!!). I would love to get some of these dolls for my daughter to play with. And what could be a better testament!
I really like the look of these and I think I saw a review on one by The Toy Box Philosopher a little while ago and she said that their outfits are quite well made, which is great too. I like that they are like ‘little girls’ as I’ve never been into ‘fashion dolls’ and yet their outfits are up to date and just like what real children would wear, which is what I like to dress my dolls like.
I hope they’ll also sell outfits for the dolls separately from the dolls themselves.
Yes, Sharon, I think they are well made. We don’t have any of these dolls yet but what I touched at the Fair really impresseed me. And I just love the concept behind these dolls. Really suitable for children!
they are adorable! The one in space really does look like she is not happy in that box. 😀
Oh yes, Xyra, I agree! He ought to have taken that Lottie out of the box!!!
I have the Pirate Queen and she is just lovely! The clothes are really good quality too 🙂
Great to know! I still haven’t got one. My daughter seems to have forgotten about these dolls and I am not reminding her!!
