We stayed in Hong Kong for 5 days. We spent 3 nights and 2 full days in Hong Kong itself and then 2 nights and 2 full days in Disneyland. The weather was gorgeous for most of the days (which for me means it was below +18C). The first day excited us all with the temperature +11C in the morning – we couldn’t even dream about it in Singapore! We love it when it is cold!!
Our hotel was in the central area, so in the morning we strolled through the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens to the Tram station to go up to the Victoria Peak.

As always I get very excited by any notes on historical fashions!! These were on display while we were queuing to get on a tram that would take us all the way to the Victoria Peak.
Finally on Victoria Peak. A breathtaking view of Hong Kong from the height of 396 metres!
Later Lydia had a stroll around The Peak. There is a very picturesque road there with some Chinese-style buildings and a view of Hong Kong.
Does it look like Lydia is walking in a miniature Hong Kong? Well, this seems to be an external unit for something inside the building (like, perhaps, air-conditioning), but it looks like Hong Kong in miniature, complete with two trams!
Hong Kong Madame Tussaud’s which is one of the main attractions on The Peak. It was very crowded, and it was hard to take photos, but Lydia has got the most exciting one – with William Shakespeare!!
St John’s Cathedral. Built in English Gothic style, this Anglican cathedral in Hong Kong was opened in 1849.

Sharon, thank you so much! Yes, Hong Kong is well worth a visit. Though for us it was probably the last one in many many years since we are leaving Asia and I can’t see us flying those long hours to go to a place we’ve already been to (Japan, yes, but not HK). You should definitely go there if you haven’t been yet! (Though, quite frankly, I would prefer to tour around Spain and the UK instead of HK – I can’t even imagine how many photos I will start taking of dolls in all those incredible historical places in England once we move there!)
Yes, Lydia in modern outfits is amazing, isn’t she! I was very surprised to see that myself! A very versatile doll!

Love the photos. Hong Kong from Victoria Peak looks amazing! Your family must have been patient with you while you took so many great photos. Mine gets very impatient with me trying to set up photos, although my son prefers me taking photos of dolls to taking photos of him!

Melangell, thanks a lot!! Yes, the view from Victoria Peak is breathtaking (and vertigo inducing, too!). My family has got used to me taking photos of dolls during our holidays. I usually try to take small ones. And I still have a cover up, since I always have my two girls with me (how I am going to justify taking photos of dolls in 10 years’ time, I do not know!!). My 11yo daughter held Lydia on most of these photos, but by the end of each day she would get fed up, so I had to ask my husband, who, though complained, still did the job!!
Still, there were plenty of photo opportunities missed as I didn’t dare to stop the family!
However, I have a plan of taking two of my huge BJD dolls (Rochester and Jane Eyre) to Thornfield Hall for a photosession when we live in England. That will certainly be epic! I bet, the family WILL complain then!! Two of those dolls weigh 5 kg together!

Лара, спасибо большое! Ночной город – это было в самый первый вечер после прилета. Жуткий вечер был, на самом деле – голова раскалывалась после перелета и у меня, и у старшей дочки, а муж решил пойти прогуляться.
Как мы мотались в поисках, где бы поужинать, до изнеможения. А кругом – одни китайские рестораны и кафе (я и дети не едим китайскую еду). В итоге пришлось довольствоваться Burger King…
Шекспир – это да!! В прошлый раз там был Моцарт, но в этот раз его, увы, не было. Зато вот Шекспир появился. Половина фигур там – местные гонконские и китайские знаменитости, которых мы даже не знали совсем. Из знакомых лиц там были Королева Англии с Принцем Филиппом, Анжелина Джоли с Бредом Питом, Николь Кидман, Джонни Депп, Принцесса Диана, Шекспир, Рембрандт, Эйнштейн, Одри Хепберн, Фредди Меркьюри, Битлы, Мадонна, основатель независимого Сингапура Ли Квань Ю, которого мы очень уважаем, а также, не поверишь, Гитлер (!) и несколько других политиков, с кем фотографироваться совсем не хотелось. В прошлый раз там был Горбачев, в этот раз не было. Еще были некоторые спортсмены, включая нашу Марию Шарапову. Остальные – звезды и политики Гонконга. Местные от них пищали, мы же проходили в недоумении. У нас тут в Сингапуре музей Мадам Тюссо открыли в октябре. Надо будет обязательно сходить до отъезда! (А в лондонском есть фигура Бена!!!)

Одри Хепберн была за столиком “Завтрак у Тиффани”. Отдельной фотки нету, у меня дети по очереди с ней сфотались зато. Они понятия не имеют еще, кто это, но моя стандартная фраза в этом музее “Фотографируйтесь, потом сами рады будете!” их убеждала в необходимости фото. Мы далеко не со всеми фотались. К Королеве Елизавете очередь была. Я хотела Лидию там сфотать, но шансы были нулевые (только девочек и смогла).
Вот, забыла, там еще был актер, который в Гарри Поттере Седрика Диггори играл. Понятия не имею, как его зовут, но старшая у меня сразу к нему кинулась фотографироваться!
В Сингапурский музей обязательно сходим. И потом в Лондонский (Бен, Бен, БЕН!!!).
